• Action: The board approved a supplemental reimbursement agreement with PennDOT for the Chartiers Creek No. 63 bridge, Canton Township, increasing the maximum reimbursement amount to $1.4 million from a previous $286,662.
At the request of Recorder of Deeds Debbie Bardella, the board increased last year’s agreement with IMR to $21,360 from its previously approved $20,000 because invoices exceeded the anticipated budget. For 2013, the contract with IMR is not to exceed the 2012 figure.

• Announcement: County offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, because of President’s Day.

• Discussion: At the annual meeting of the board, it was noted that the county’s indebtedness through bond issues is $51,360,441. Debt service payments in 2012 will be $3.5 million, and the most recent Standard & Poor’s rating of the county for borrowing purposes is A+.
County taxpayers are still paying for construction of the jail, renovations that converted the old jail to a family court center, airport development and land purchases at the Starpointe Industrial Park.
The commissioners, Treasurer Francis King and Controller Michael Namie are members of the sinking fund board.
