Area woman sentenced for welfare fraud

A Washington woman has been sentenced for welfare fraud, according to the Pennsylvania Office of Inspector General.

Kim A. Barlow, 40, improperly received more than $4,650 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, the office said. She was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to pay full restitution and costs. She also is disqualified from receiving SNAP benefits for one year.
