Patient arrested: Andrew Walter Miller, 46, of Munhall, was arrested Monday by Carroll police for allegedly threatening a staff member at Monongahela Valley Hospital’s Behavioral Health Unit. Miller, who police said is a patient in the unit, threatened to “break the neck” of a staff member. Miller was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Clothing stolen: North Franklin police are looking for a black man who stole clothing from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center, on at least two occasions before fleeing in a gray GMC sport utility vehicle. On Saturday, the thief stole 10 Polo shirts valued at $750 and on Monday, he reportedly stole four other shirts valued at $158.Store security told police the thief had been in the store on previous occasions.

Harassment charge: Dawn A. White, 30, of 51 Arnold St., was charged with harassment by North Franklin police after she allegedly hit and shoved Justin Crowe, 30, during a confrontation at their home Saturday. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger. Police took White to her parents’ home on Trinity Drive after the altercation.

Two hurt: Rosalie Salansky of McDonald and Kathleen Belleno of Houston were slightly injured Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Route 519 at Boone Avenue, North Strabane. State police said Solansky’s vehicle hit the back of Belleno’s vehicle as Belleno tried to make a left turn.

Wallet stolen: Michael Martin, 111 Hunting Creek Road, told North Strabane police Monday that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle. He told police he thought the vehicle was locked and discovered the theft after learning his credit cards were being used.

Tools, wire stolen: Charles McVay of New Brighton told North Strabane police Monday that three sets of ratchets, two sets of wrenches and a large spool of commercial wire were stolen from his work pickup truck while parked at EQT, 455 Racetrack Road.

More vases missing: Seven more bronze cemetery vases were reported missing Monday from Queen of Heaven Cemetery, township police said. The total number of stolen vases stands at nine, township police said. Anyone who notices a suspicious person in the cemetery, or discovers vases missing from the graves is asked to notify police by calling 911, and then by notifying the cemetery office, police said.

Institutional vandalism: Graffiti was scrawled in marker on the inside walls on the first floor of the Peters Township Public Library, 616 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, township police said. The damage was reported at 1:15 p.m. Monday.

One injured: Steven E. Tripp complained of back pain following a two-vehicle accident at 6:34 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of East McMurray and Bebout roads, township police said. Tripp, 37, of Washington Avenue, Bridgeville, was attempting to make a left turn while traveling west, when his pickup truck collided with an eastbound car operated by James A. Beck, 37, of West Edgewood Drive, McMurray, police said. Beck was not injured. Tripp was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.

One-vehicle accident: Robert Mark Anderson was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a one-vehicle accident at 11:53 p.m. Monday, township police said. Anderson, 22, of Willow Drive, McMurray, told police he was traveling east on Center Church Road near Washington Road, when he lost control when a driver traveling the opposite direction approached him in the wrong lane, police said. Anderson’s vehicle struck a utility pole and shrubs, police said. Anderson failed a field sobriety test. His blood-alcohol level was measured at .159 percent. Charges will proceed by summons.
