CLEVELAND (AP) – The body of a 15-year-old Cleveland boy who’d been swimming at an unguarded beach with friends has been recovered from Lake Erie.

The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reportws that Gregory Adams was pulled from the water by Cleveland firefighters around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday and pronounced dead at a local hospital. An autopsy will be done on Wednesday.

The boy had been swimming at Perkins Beach in Edgewater Park with friends, jumping from a tree limb that was floating in the lake.

A spokeswoman for the Cleveland Metroparks, which manages Edgewater Park, says the beach has no guards and is marked with “No Swimming” signs.
