PennDOT announces work schedule

Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerome Simkovic announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 29. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.
The schedule is as follows:
• Shoulder cutting and grading operations are scheduled on Route 3001 from the West Virginia state line to the village of Deep Valley (Springhill Township).
• Bridge replacement operations will be conducted on Route 18, Golden Oaks Road (Freeport Township), near the community of New Freeport. Traffic is restricted to one lane and controlled by traffic signal (new traffic pattern).
• Base repair will take place on Route 21 from the West Virginia state line to Route 4017, Scott Run Road (Center Township); Route 4001, Dodge Ridge Road (Richhill Township) to Route 4003, Veterans Road (Richhill Township).
• Community Work Program will be conducting a litter pick-up on Route 3011, Hargus Creek Road (Center Township) to Route 3009, Toms Run Road in Pine Bank (Gilmore Township) and finish on Route 3007, Blockhouse Road, (Gilmore and Jackson townships).
• Patch and paving operations will be conducted on Route 19 in Franklin Township; Route 21 East Roy E. Furman Highway between Rolling Meadows Road (Franklin Township) and Township Road 636, Gwynn Road (Jefferson Township); Route 2003, Big Shannon Road, from the West Virginia state line to Township Road 540, Zimmerman Road (Whitely Township); Route 2020, White Barn Road (Franklin Township) to Route 2003, Patterson Run Road (Whitely Township).
• Seal coat operations (tar and chip) will begin on Route 2003, Creek Road (Perry Township) to Sugar Run Road (Franklin Township). Vehicle operators are advised to use caution, reduce speeds, increase stopping distances and be aware of approaching traffic with loose stone chips. Tar removal tips are available via telephone.
• Berm mowing operations will continue on numerous secondary state routes throughout the county. Herbicide spraying along berms, culverts, signs and guiderails may also be conducted. Please use extra caution travelling in these areas.
• Ditch cleaning will be conducted on Route 88, from Township Road 323, Power Plant Road (Monongahela Township) to Route 2027, Colvin Road (Monongahela Township).
• Concrete culvert rehabilitation at Muddy Creek Bridge will be conducted on Route 1021 Crucible Road (Cumberland Township) near Route 1023, Jacobs Ferry Road (Cumberland Township)
• Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and complaints will be addressed on various state routes throughout Greene County.
