Burglary charge: William L. Strawn, 50, of Houston, was in the Washington County jail following his arrest at 8 a.m. Sunday in a gravel parking area in the 3000 block of Jefferson Avenue. State police said he stole multiple items from a locked security trailer owned by Northern Pipeline, Washington. Strawn is being held on burglary and other charges.
Charges in fight: Three Washington residents were charged wirth disorderly conduct following an incident at the Wendy’s restaurant at 9:17 p.m. Friday. State police reported Michael S. Montgomery; 30; Matthew D. Rizor, 29; and Andrea B. Lysinger, 31, were involved in a physical altercation.
Driver hospitalized: Daniel J. Oliverio, 51, of Washington, was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment of an injury following a crash on Berthel Drive at 4:05 p.m. Saturday. State police said the driver, traveling west, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a chain-link fence. Washington County EMS/Stat Medic transported him. A passenger, Debra Oliverio-Keeney, 53, of Washington, did not require treatment.
Burglary reported: State police are investigating the burglary of an unoccupied home that is being remodeled and is owned by Shirley Jones. Police said, between March 28 and May 10, someone forced open the basement door and went through the house, stealing a small hutch, two remote-controlled cars, an electronic engine timing gun and a binder with several autographed photos of film stars.
Driver arrested: State police in Waynesburg stopped Eric D. Blass, 22, of Morgantown, W.Va., for allegedly speeding at 10:37 p.m. Friday near the 14-mile marker on Interstate 79. Police said there was an active warrant from West Virginia for Blass, and he was arraigned before District Judge Glenn Bates. Blass is being held in the Greene County jail on $20,000 straight cash bond.
Receiving stolen items: State police in Pittsburgh are investigating the thefts of 55 long guns and firearms they say John Boyer, of Burgettstown, has purchased. Police advise anyone from the Hanover area who has had guns stolen to call Trooper James Monkelis at 412-787-2000.
20 concertgoers cited: State police in Pittsburgh cited 20 people aged 18 to 20 for underage drinking during the Brad Paisley concert Saturday at First Niagara Pavilion. Police identified them as Tara Jenkins, Katlyn Hetzlin, Kati Moss, Katherine Benvola, Laurel Richmond, Kara Scherling, Makensie Deel, Timothy Ferrand Jr., Kevin Claybaugh, Jacob Atkinson, Jasmyn Byrne, Julianne Gray, Caler Simmons, Grace Conrady (also false ID), Kyrstan Richardson, Joseph Samek, Daniel White, Emiley Devor, Jenna Zeiler and Shane McClure. Ten juveniles also were cited.
Crash injury: Kevin E. Donofrio, 42, of Finleyville, was treated for a minor injury following a crash at 4:15 p.m. Saturday. State police in Belle Vernon said the driver was heading south on Route 88 when the car left the road, struck a utility pole and came to rest in a yard facing west. Mon Valley EMS transported Donofrio to Mon Valley Hospital.
