Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 34, Greene County, will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Waynesburg. Members are encouraged to attend.

Cornerstone Genealogical Society will hold its annual picnic at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the barn at the Greene County Historical Museum. Members are asked to bring a covered dish; table service and drinks will be provided. Terry Cole’s Conestoga wagon will be on display. The Oliver Stockdale family will provide special music. There also will be a jump rope contest. Those planning to attend the picnic must register by calling the society at 724-627-5653 before Saturday.

Morgan Township Society of Farm Women will meet Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. President Audrey Jacobs will preside; Pat Reggets will have devotions; and June Shriver will host the covered-dish luncheon. Roll call will be answered to, “Did your flower beds survive the last frost?”

Waynesburg American Legion will hold a Flag Day celebration beginning at 6 p.m. June 14. A program will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by food and refreshments from 7 to 8 p.m. The band, Triple Dare, will perform from 8 to 11 p.m. The public is invited.
