McGuffey H.S. to graduate 148
McGuffey High School will graduate 148 seniors at its commencement at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school gymnasium.
Speakers will be the honor graduates, Drevin Bailey Galentine, Maxwell Levy and Mikayla Jane Schultz. The topic will be “What will tomorrow look like?”
Galentine is a son of Denny and Joi Galentine of Washington. He will study mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
He received the American Voices Award, American Legion School Award, Buckholt Science scholarship and four Science Olympiad medals in addition to being named a National Merit Commended Student.
He was a member of the Academic League, math team, library club, varsity tennis team and National Honor Society.
Levy is a son of Jack and Natalie Levy of Washington. He will study mechanical engineering at Penn State University.
He was a member of National Honor Society, German Society and PMEA District I Band. He also participated in the marching and jazz bands and is a member of the rifle team and Washington & Jefferson wind ensemble.
Schultz is a daughter of Matt and Danielle Schultz of Claysville. She will study music performance and music education at West Liberty University.
She was awarded the Elbin Scholarship for the university and was a member of the library club, drama club and jazz, marching and concert bands. She also is a member of Washington Community Theater.
