Train, car collide in Monongahela
No one was injured early Friday when a Norfolk Southern train struck a car that had become stuck on the tracks at the Nelson Street and East Railroad Street crossing in Monongahela.
Police Chief Brian Tempest said a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier owned by Sonya Porter of East Railroad Street, Monongahela, got stuck on the tracks when she made too sharp a turn. She was out of the vehicle when it was hit by the train about 4:08 a.m.
The wreckage was cleared and tracks reopened about 6 a.m.
