Business cited: The operator of Ashlend Inc., 1300 Main St., Burgettstown, was cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allowing smoking Dec. 22 and Jan. 24.

Man arrested: Steve Michael Hamilton, 39, of 286 E. Prospect Ave., Washington, was arrested Tuesday morning by Canonsburg police after he allegedly assaulted Charles Roman of Canonsburg near First Street and Euclid Avenue. Hamilton told police he tried to stop Roman from assaulting Roxanne Steadman. Hamilton said Roman hit him from behind and he was defending himself when he hit Roman. Police found a suspected marijuana pipe on Hamilton. Hamilton was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. Roman will be charged with harassment and public drunkenness, police said.

Vehicle rollover: A Steubenville, Ohio, woman was slightly injured in a one-vehicle accident at 8 a.m. Tuesday on Angerer Road near Technology Drive in the Southpointe area, township police said. Joann Davis, 47, told police she was driving south on Angerer Road when she reached for a drink and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle struck a hillside and rolled onto the driver’s side, police said. Firefighters from Cecil Township No. 2 Muse Volunteer Fire Department helped to stabilize the vehicle, police said. Davis, police said, complained of an injury to her right wrist and soreness in her neck. She was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment. Davis was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Slightly injured: Thomas Bronson, 23, of 1282 Oakridge Road, McDonald, was slightly injured Friday when his vehicle went off Plum Run Road near Johnson Hill Road and landed in a creek, Chartiers police said. His vehicle reportedly went airborne and down a 40-foot embankment. He will be cited with failure to notify police of the crash.

Drug arrest: Nicole M. Davis, 26, of 269 Railroad St., Finleyville, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with heroin possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and flight to avoid apprehension, court records show. Police said David ran from them when they approached her about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Fallowfield Township to apprehend her on an adult probation warrant, and that she had three stamp bags of heroin when they caught up with her, the affidavit indicates. She is in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Monday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Charged in crash: Joseph F. Harrick, 23, of Follansbee, W.Va., was charged last week by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and several traffic violations stemming from a rollover crash Feb. 9 on Route 844 near Willow Lane, Hopewell. State police said his vehicle was on its left side against a tree when they arrived. His blood-alcohol content was above the 0.08 percent limit. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

Charged with DUI: Herman A. Padilla, 57, of 310 Pleasant Grove Road, Prosperity, was charged last week by state police with DUI and several traffic violations stemming from a two-vehicle crash Jan. 21 on Pleasant Grove near Route 221, Morris. State police said Padilla’s vehicle crossed the center line and struck the other vehicle. Padilla blamed the other driver, telling police the impact caused him to urinate in his pants. Blood was drawn, and his BAC was determined to be almost twice the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.

Property damage: Mt. Pleasant police are looking for the driver of a truck hauling a trailer that damaged properties at 1530 and 1531 Millers Run Road (Route 50), between 11 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday. Police said it appears the driver pulled into one yard to turn around and in the process went through the other. Police said that the actions would have blocked Route 50 for a time. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-356-7917.

Excavator damaged: Two windows on an excavator owned by Kukurin Construction of Export were reported damaged by vandals Monday while it was parked off Latimer Avenue, Strabane, North Strabane police said. The company is installing a water line in the area.

Vehicle damaged: The rear window of a sport utility vehicle was broken and the rear gate was dented before 7:06 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Fox Run Drive, Venetia, township police said. The resident told police he was awakened by a noise at 1:30 a.m., but did not look outside. Nothing was stolen from inside the vehicle, police said. Another vehicle in the 300 block of Doubletree Drive, Venetia, was damaged; however, the police report was not complete. That damage was reported at 6:21 a.m. Tuesday.

Tires slashed: Two tires on a vehicle in the 100 block of Brawdy Street, Venetia, were slashed between Feb. 25 and 12:47 p.m. Monday, township police said.

Wallets stolen: Two men told South Strabane police their wallets were stolen Monday. Dustin Hall of Avella told police his wallet containing $100 and identification was stolen while he was working at McDonald’s, Trinity Point. David Mull of Cecil Township told police that he was at Washington Financial Bank when his wallet containing $850 fell out of his pocket.
