A Burgettstown woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday in Hanover Township.

A passenger in a car, Debra L. Strong, 57, of Main Street, died at the scene of the 1:15 p.m. crash on Route 18 near Log Cabin Road, according to state police and Washington County Coroner Tim Warco. The driver of the car, Stanley J. Reisdorf, 44, of Burgettstown, and a passenger in the other vehicle, Eric J. Raineri, 47, of Prosperity, were flown by helicopter with unspecified injuries to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, police said.

The car was traveling north, and Reisdorf decided to pass another northbound vehicle when his vehicle collided head-on with the southbound pickup truck, Warco said. Police said the driver of the pickup truck, Curtis J. Warner, 26, of Hickory, suffered minor injuries.

Warco pronounced Strong dead at 2:42 p.m. from multiple injuries.

Police said Reisdorf faces a charge of reckless driving.

All were wearing seat belts.

State police, Hanover Township, Burgettstown and Slovan fire departments and Ambulance & Chair Service responded to the accident.
