WAYNESBURG – Jerome Simkovic, Greene County maintenance manager for the state Department of Transportation, announced the tentative Community Work Program for the week of March 18. Motorists should drive with caution and reduced speed throughout litter pick-up areas.

The Community Work Program from the state Corrections Institution at Greene will conduct litter pick-up on Interstate 79, south to the West Virginia state line and then north to the Washington county line and back to the Waynesburg interchange. The CWP will pick up litter on the berms and medians Monday through Thursday. On Friday, the CWP Team will pick up litter on Route 188, east from Waynesburg toward Jefferson.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concerns. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD or 1-800-349-7623.
