Washington County court has scheduled for Wednesday morning a hearing on a challenge to nominating petitions of a candidate hoping to run for a seat on the Canton Township board of supervisors.

Robert Franks of 11 Blue Jay Drive challenged the nominating petitions of James T. Miller of 2338 Jefferson Ave.

Franks alleged that Miller was not a registered Democrat while his petition, requiring 10 signatures of registered Democrats, was being circulated.

The hearing before President Judge Debbie O’Dell Seneca on whether Miller can be a candidate in the May 21 primary has been slated for 9:30 a.m.
