Man charged in marijuana-growing operation

BIG BEAVER (AP) — State police say they have arrested a man who was growing marijuana at his home in Big Beaver.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that troopers Thursday seized about 5 pounds of processed marijuana, 61 live plants and a 12-gauge shotgun from the home of 47-year-old Kenneth Lee Vernon.

Vernon has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and possession of paraphernalia. He is being held in Beaver County jail awaiting arraignment.
