Chartiers Township supervisors

Date: March 12

Action: Supervisors approved the police manual as recommended by Chief James Horvath in a form acceptable to the township solicitor.

Supervisors entered into a license agreement with Pittsburgh & Ohio Central Railroad for use of its right-of-way for the installation of a sanitary sewer line. The project to construct sanitary sewers in Midland is expected to be advertised in April and awarded in May.

The annual cleanup was schedule for May 18 after a proposal from Waste Management was approved.

Discussion: Supervisors discussed allocations of the Act 13 gas well impact fee money, including $100,000 to be used for projects and purchases by the township police and fire departments; $250,000 for improvements to Allison Hollow Road; $200,000 for environmental programs and $132,000 in a capital reserve fund.

A tour of township roads will be held to determine what will be included in this year’s improvement program.

Next meeting: 7 p.m. March 19 at the municipal building.
