Department of Transportation plans outreach meeting

WAYNESBURG – The state Department of Transportation will hold its annual community outreach meeting Friday in the community room at Greene County Career and Technology Center, 60 Zimmerman Drive, Waynesburg.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. with GIS mapping review, and networking from 12:30 to 1 p.m. The presentation will start at 1 p.m.

At the outreach meeting, PennDOT will have an opening presentation where it will discuss its department goals for 2013 and then host breakout areas where one can learn more about specific PennDOT activities.

Areas to be discussed include:

Construction and maintenance projects that will be in progress in 2013

The increasing need to reduce highway fatalities and increase motorist safety

PennDOT’s Intelligent Transportation System

PennDOT’s Diverging Diamond Interchange

Roundabouts

Marcellus Shale

Municipal services
