WAYNESBURG – The Waynesburg University Student Activities Board will host a Steelers Footballers Basketball Game at 8 p.m. March 27 in the Marisa Fieldhouse. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Admission is $7, and the public is invited. Waynesburg University students with a valid ID will be admitted free.

The Steelers will take on a team consisting of Waynesburg University students, faculty and staff. There will be an autograph session during halftime.

“This event is more than just a form of entertainment,” said Pat Bristor, associate dean of students at Waynesburg University. “It is an opportunity for a number of students to come together and learn valuable life skills from planning, budgeting, promoting and public speaking, as well as the specifics of sports broadcasting, television production and radio broadcasting.”

Proceeds will benefit SAB’s Relay for Life team.

Department of Communication students will use the university’s TV production truck to provide live coverage of the game. The game will be shown on Channel 14 on the Comcast system serving Waynesburg and Franklin Township. Pregame coverage begins at 7:50 p.m.

The game also can be viewed at http://wctv.waynesburg.edu.

If unable to watch the game live, tape delay TV coverage will be available after April 2 at http://wctv.waynesburg.edu. Click “WUSN Remote Productions” and search for the game.
