The state Department of Transportation released an update on road and bridge projects in Greene County.

A $3.7 million small bridge projects contract has been awarded to Allison Park Contractors of Allison Park.

This project consists of the replacements of four bridges at four different locations within the county. They are:

• Route 18 in Freeport Township (Golden Oaks Road, 2.5 miles north of Garrison)

• Route 18 in Franklin Township (1/2 mile north of Route 21- Route 18 Junction)

• Route 21 in Gray Township (1/2 mile west of Graysville)

• Route 2019 in Cumberland Township (Ceylon Road between Ullery Road and Route 1019)

The contractor has begun work on the structure at Route 21 and it will be done in phases. A single 10-foot- wide lane will be available to motorists through the work zone. East and westbound traffic will be alternated by temporary traffic signals.

Also, a $774,962 contract was awarded to Golden Eagle Construction of Uniontown for minimal overlay and miscellaneous remediation on Route 21 from Gwynn Road to Fox Road in Jefferson and Cumberland townships.

Traffic will be restricted to an alternating single lane during working hours for the course of the project.

The project, which is scheduled to start April 1, is tentatively scheduled to be completed in early June.
