A Chartiers Township man told township police it was he who stopped and asked a 13-year-old boy if he wanted a ride Monday morning.

The 13-year-old was on his way to his bus stop at the intersection of McGovern Road and Linda Lane when he was approached about 9 a.m.

The resident, who apparently lived near the boy, was just trying to be nice and offer the boy a ride, said Sgt. Michael Filosi. The man contacted police after seeing the report in Wednesday’s Observer-Reporter.
