WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Borough Police said they are investigating multiple incidents of a motorist propositioning and then exposing himself to women.

Police Chief Tim Hawfield said descriptions of the color and possible make of the car varied widely among three eyewitnesses. This may indicate this person has access to more than one vehicle but the discrepancies also could be attributed to the emotional state of the witnesses, Hawfield said.

However, the descriptions of his physical characteristics were fairly consistent, according to the police reports.

The women, all in their early 20s, told police the man is white, with a thin build and short dark blond or light brown hair. Two of the women said he is in his 20s. The third said he appears to be in his 20s or 30s.

The victims told police the man pulled up to them while they were walking, opened his car door, offered to pay them for sexual acts, and then exposed himself. One victim reported hearing him yell after her that it wasn’t supposed to scare her as she fled.

The first incident occurred around 1 p.m. March 6 on South Morris Street. The second happened the same day less than an hour later on First Avenue at the intersection with North Morris Street The third took place at 5:15 p.m. March 17 on Berryhill Alley near Waynesburg University.

Hawfield said he was hopeful the man had been identified after a similar incident in another jurisdiction but this person has been ruled out.
