A Charleroi man was arrested Tuesday night by Charleroi Regional police after he allegedly assaulted his wife and her pregnant daughter.

Christopher Todd Byron, 41, of 403 Shady Ave., is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He is accused of assaulting his wife, Shari Byron, and her 19-year-old daughter, Angela Jones.

Police were called to Byron’s home about 8 p.m. for a report of a man who was stabbed and the suspect was still present. Christopher Byron called 411 and the call was transferred to Indiana County’s 911 center. A dispatcher then notified Washington County 911.

When police arrived at the home, Shari Byron told them to go around back. Christopher Byron was sitting in the kitchen. He had stab wounds to the left shoulder and left bicep, and there was broken glass all over the floor, police said.

Shari Byron and Jones were sitting in the living room. He told police Jones was kicked out of where she had been staying and his wife was allowing her to stay there. Byron told police Jones was only to stay one night. When he told her to leave, she refused so he pushed her out the door, he said. He claimed Jones punched him and then stabbed him twice.

Jones told police she heard Byron had assaulted her mother so she went to their residence. Her mother had a black eye and marks on her throat where Byron reportedly had choked her.

Jones told police she had words with Byron. He reportedly kicked her in the stomach. When Jones tried to get away, she said Byron grabbed her and hit her in the stomach. Her mother tried to intervene, but she was hit in the face by her husband, police stated in court documents.

Jones and Shari Byron both required medical treatment, police said. Christopher Byron received stitches.

Christopher Byron was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Jones has not been charged at this time, police said.
