Men waive chase charges
Two men arrested last month after one led state police on a chase waived their cases to court Wednesday after some of the charges filed against them were withdrawn and their bonds amended.
Earle Clifford Williams, 27, of 129 Church St., Washington, was arrested April 3 after leading state police on a chase that started near the Jessop Place exit of Interstate 70 after he was clocked going 80 mph.
Williams failed to stop for Trooper Kevin DeJulius, continuing to Interstate 79 and eventually getting off at the Houston exit. He then led police to the home of Scott Anthony Domske, 33, of 414 Forrest Ave., Houston. Domske owned the car Williams was driving.
Williams went into Domske’s home. Domske then came out of the house and got in the vehicle, ignoring police orders to stop. Domske moved the car from the yard and parked it in the driveway. Williams left the home and was found nearby at his girlfriend’s residence.
Williams and Domske were slated for a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge David Mark.
A charge of risking a catastrophe was withdrawn against Williams. He waived charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, possession of crack and numerous traffic violations. His bond was reduced from $100,000 to $15,000.
A charge of hindering apprehension against Domske was withdrawn and his bond lowered to $50,000 unsecured. He faces further court action on charges of disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and allowing someone without a valid license to drive his vehicle.
