Police: Doctor’s body had cyanide

PITTSBURGH – Authorities say a doctor who suddenly collapsed in her home and died had high levels of cyanide in her system.
Pittsburgh Police Lt. Kevin Kraus says the homicide unit is investigating the April 20 death of 41-year-old Autumn Marie Klein.
Dr. Klein was chief of the division of women’s neurology and an assistant professor of neurology, obstetrics and gynecology at UPMC’s Presbyterian and Magee-Womens hospitals.
Allegheny County Medical Examiner Dr. Karl Williams says more tests are needed to determine how Klein died, and that it is a very complex investigation.
Klein came to Pittsburgh in 2011 from Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She’s survived by her husband and a 6-year-old daughter.
