Welcome Center to hold events for tourism week

The Welcome Center on Interstate 79 northbound near Kirby will feature a number of events Saturday through May 12 as the state Department of Transportation celebrates National Tourism Week.

The following organizations and businesses will have displays or events at the center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Saturday: Fischers Antiques

Sunday: Rivers Casino

Monday: David Bradford and Lemoyne House; Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, Scott Becker; Pennsylvania Lottery; Ryerson Station State Park, Jeff Wolfe; Washington County Tourism

Tuesday: Thistlewaite Vineyard

Wednesday: Brice Rush, King Coal Show; Greene County Historical Society

Thursday: Pennsylvania Coal Alliance, Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce

Friday: Hilton Garden Inn, Alicia Ryder; Montgomery Mansion Bed & Breakfast of Claysville

Saturday: No events

Sunday: Greene County Tourism, Candice Tustin
