Three people were arrested by Canonsburg police on drug charges today, including one man who claims to be a member of a New York City gang.

The arrests prompted brief lockdowns at Canon-McMillan Senior High School in North Strabane Township and South Central Elementary School in Canonsburg.

Arrested were Zaire Escribano, 30, of the Bronx, N.Y.; Keith Anthony Rosario, 23, of 200 Bernstein Ave., Canonsburg; and 21-year-old Paradise Wilson, who told police that she homeless.

Canonsburg police Sgt. Al Coghill said the department received information that the three would be in the Canonsburg area today. Escribano and Rosario were stopped in a vehicle on Boone Avenue in North Strabane, and police said they confiscated two bricks of heroin, Ecstasy pills and cocaine, as well as $2,500. Police said Wilson came into the police station early this afternoon, claiming the drugs officers seized belonged to her.

All three were arraigned on drug-related charges before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County Jail on $200,000 bond each.
