PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Police say a woman attacked a limousine driver and stole his vehicle in northeastern Philadelphia but was later arrested after authorities tracked the vehicle using its GPS system.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the limousine arrived to pick up a fare in the Crescentville section at about 7 p.m. Tuesday.
But he said a woman then jumped into the back seat and threatened the 40-year-old driver with a knife, ordering him out of the car.
Police said the two struggled and the woman dropped the knife but then pulled a gun and took the limousine.
Police said they tracked the vehicle to Abington and the 30-year-old woman fled but was apprehended nearby.
The driver was reported in stable condition at Aria Health Frankford Campus.
