Man wanted in two armed robberies turns himself in

A Washington man wanted for shooting a convenience store clerk in the leg during a robbery and robbing another store has turned himself in to police.

Shayne Charles Coffield, 23, whose last known address was 247 W. Hallam Ave., turned himself in this morning. He is being arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges including robbery, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

He is accured of shooting a clerk at the Uni-Mart, 336 E. Maiden St., Washington during a March 27 robbery with co-defendant Chris Pitzarella of Washington. Coffield and his stepbrother, Michael Stienstraw, 26, of Canton Township, are also accured or robbing Isaly’s, 2400 Jefferson Ave., Canton on Jan. 21 with a knife and baseball bat. The other two men are already in custody.
