The annual “Tails for Trails” 5K dog walk fundraiser is returning to the Montour Trail next month for those furry four-legged critters and their owners.
The Cecil Friends of the Montour Trail is organizing the fundraiser for June 1, which also is Walk on National Trails Day.
The walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the Kurnick National Trailhead and travel east to the turnaround at the Tandem Connection crossing near the newly constructed bridge over Morganza Road.
Several vendors selling pet products will be at the starting point and walkers can participate in a Chinese auction or have their photos taken with their pups. There also will be hot dogs, beverages and other food for participants when they return from the walk. A canine cardiopulmonary rescucitation demonstration will be conducted for pet owners.
The registration fee is $10 for one dog and $16 for two dogs if walkers register by May 20. The registration form and more information about the 5K walk can be found on the Montour Trail’s website at www.montourtrail.org.
