PITTSBURGH (AP) – A woman who used to work at the federal Drug Enforcement Administration office in Pittsburgh has pleaded guilty to stealing $1,800 from the agency – out of a cash box where she collected donations to various charities.
Holly Cook, 43, of Monongahela, must return for sentencing Sept. 10 before a federal judge in Pittsburgh after her guilty plea to a single count of theft of government money Monday.
Cook was hired by the DEA in 2008 and originally worked in Harrisburg before transferring to Pittsburgh in 2009.
She oversaw petty cash used to support daily DEA operations before she was accused of stealing the money last June. Cook no longer works for the agency.
Cook and her federal public defender have declined comment.
