PITTSBURGH (AP) – A federal grand jury has indicted a western Pennsylvania man on a charge of union embezzlement.

The Department of Justice says in a Tuesday statement that 51-year-old Duane Rill of Cranberry Township allegedly stole $13,496 from Berry Metal Employees Association from March 2007 to November 2009, by writing and cashing unauthorized checks.

Rill was secretary-treasurer of the independent union. He couldn’t be reached for comment.
