Knife pulled: Timothy Dunlap, 20, of Peters Township, was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital Tuesday night after he suffered an apparent anxiety attack when he had a knife pulled on him by a Canonsburg man. Dunlap was near the skate park at Canonsburg Town Park when he was confronted. A witness confirmed his story. The alleged assailant was gone when police arrived. Police are continuing their investigation.
Checks stolen: Virginia Helmick, 48, of 541 Euclid Ave., Canonsburg, will be charged by Canonsburg police with theft for allegedly stealing two checks from Charles Tustin, of 111 First St., Canonsburg, and then cashing them for $417. Tustin reported the theft Tuesday.
Money stolen: Takesia Martin of Donora told Canonsburg police Tuesday three, $50 bills were stolen from her purse while she was working at McDonald’s, Cavasina Drive.
Warrant arrest: Derrick Lee Blakey, 47, of 405 10th St., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant obtained by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force. Blakey is accused of selling cocaine to an undercover detective last month in the borough. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Theft, drug arrest: Martha Ann Svitek, 32, of 3601 Cobblestone Drive, Washington, was arrested Tuesday night by North Franklin police after she allegedly stole a watch from Macy’s, Washington Crown Center. Police said she left her wallet behind and was apprehended by store security when she returned to retrieve it. Svitek was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft. She was placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
Assault, harassment charges: Deshawn Chaz Barfield, 19, of 22 E. Prospect St., Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with harassment and simple assault for allegedly assaulting James Roessler Tuesday at McDonald’s, 1294 W. Chestnut St. Roessler, who is an assistant manager, said Barfield caused the disturbance when he attempted to see his former girlfriend. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Door damaged: William D. Campo of North Franklin told North Franklin police Saturday a rear door at 201 VanKirk Road was smashed in during an apparent burglary attempt.
Teens cited: Derrick Dwayne Price Jr., 18, of 6 Mel Blount Drive, Washington, and a 14-year-old Buffalo Township boy were charged with underage drinking after they were found with whiskey at Washington Crown Center Friday. Police said the 14-year-old was visibly intoxicated.
Cellphone stolen: James Blankensob of Washington told North Franklin police Saturday his cellphone was stolen from a rest room at Long John Silver’s, North Ring Road.
One-vehicle accident: Three children properly restrained in car seats were taken to Washington Hospital as a precaution following a one-vehicle accident at 3:12 p.m. Tuesday on East McMurray Road at Holly Drive, township police said. One of the children, Ivy Bodner, 5, of 1100 Fayette St., Washington, had a head laceration, police said. The driver, Ashley Bodner, 27, also of 1100 Fayette St., told police she was unable to stop for a stopped vehicle and when she swerved, her vehicle struck a utility pole. Ashley Bodner, who is pregnant, told police she was not injured.
Cars entered: Two unlocked cars on Marbleseed Drive and Newbury Highlands in the Newbury plan were entered and purses and wallets with contents were stolen, township police said. The thefts were reported Tuesday morning. Later, one driver’s license and other items were recovered after being thrown on a nearby road, police said.
Drug charges: Kevin Hodgens, 49, of 35 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was charged Tuesday by Washington police with possession of drugs and public drunkenness after he was found sleeping face down in an alley off the 300 block of West Chestnut Street. Police said he had morphine and Clonzepan pills. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Mischief charge: Wesley Lassic, 36, of 47 Shannon Ave., Washington, was charged Wednesday with criminal mischief after he allegedly broke a window at the apartment of Adolph Crosby, 123 W. Walnut St., Washington police said.
Information used: Michael E. Miller, 699 Lockhart St., told Washington police Tuesday his social security number was used without his permission to open a Verizon account. The account was opened in another part of the state.
Vehicle painted: Nancy Fullen, 200 Canton Ave., reported an obscenity was painted on her vehicle Tuesday, Washington police said.
Window broken: Elaine Romano, 418 Houston St., told Washington police the front bay window of her home was broken by vandals Tuesday.
Mail stolen: Ron Clark Jr., 235 W. Chestnut St., told Washington police Tuesday outgoing mail is being stolen from his mailbox at his apartment building.
