Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges.

Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:

Earl J. Phillips II, 25, of 360 McCarrell, Ave., Washington; first offense of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license; charged Sept. 22 following a motorcycle accident at 126 Altamont Ave., North Franklin Township, then fleeing on foot, with a blood-alcohol content of 0.227 percent; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.

George W. Cornish, 42, of 261 Connellsville St., Uniontown; first offense of DUI; charged Nov. 19 following a traffic stop at Route 40 and Persimmon Street, Beallsville, with a BAC of 0.262 percent.

April L. Hughes, 48, of 150 Autumn Lane, Bulger; second offense of DUI; charged Oct. 27 following a vehicle crash at 858 Candor Road, Bulger; sentence – 5 days to 6 months in jail, $300 fine, 12-month license suspension.

Paul J. Martinchek, 58, of 677 Twin Oak Drive, Pittsburgh; excessive speed, careless driving; charged July 7 following a traffic stop on Interstate 79 south in South Strabane Township, with a BAC of 0.083 percent; sentence – $96 fine.

Charles E. Young, 30, of 2695 W. Chestnut St., Apt. 2, Washington; second offense of DUI; charged Sept. 12 following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street, North Franklin Township, with a BAC of 0.111 percent; sentence – 5 days to 6 months in jail, $300 fine, 12-month license suspension.

Ryan C. Wrubleski, 39, of 818 Ridge Ave., Canonsburg; second offense of DUI, driving with a suspended license; charged July 8 following a traffic stop at North Main at Wyle Avenue, Houston Borough, and refusing chemical testing; sentence – 90 days to 12 months in jail to be served as the first 30 days in jail with the balance on home monitoring with work release, $1,800 fine, 18-month license suspension.

John M. Harvey, 50, of 38 Second Ave., Atlasburg; second offense of DUI; charged Aug. 29 following a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 79 north near the end of Racetrack Road on-ramp, with a BAC of 0.201 percent; sentence – 90 days to 12 months in jail with work release, $1,500 fine, 12-month license suspension.
