Greene County United Way recently attended the Boy Scouts of America Laurel Highland Council, General Greene District Leader Recognition Dinner at the Greene County Career and Technology Center.

Waynesburg police Chief Tim Hawfield, district chairman, awarded Barbara Wise, executive director of United Way, the Community Partnership Award.

“What an honor” said Wise. “The Boy Scouts are one of my 17 partner agencies who volunteer by helping with special events. They assisted at last year’s 10th Anniversary ‘Stuff the Bus’ celebration, by sending four volunteers to help man the school bus that was filled with back packs full of school supplies. They are already looking forward to helping with this year’s event.”
