Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department along with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 is hosting the annual Memorial Day parade Monday.

The festivities will begin at Canonsburg Middle School on North Central Avenue with the laying of the wreath and Mothers of Democracy program.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. Any groups interested in participating that have not already signed up are asked to be at the formation site at North Central Avenue and College Street by 8:15 a.m., said Mayor David Rhome, parade chairman.

The parade will continue to Greenside Avenue and then west on Pike Street to the borough Honor Roll, where the VFW will place a wreath. It will continue down Pike to Bluff Avenue and College Street to Oak Spring Road and the Oak Spring Cemetery.

Rhome will give remarks and the parade marshal, Washington County Judge Gary Gilman, will give the address.
