Civic club honors girls of month
CARMICHAELS – The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club recently honored the 2012-13 Girls of the Month at its annual May dinner at the Fairdale Inn in Carmichaels.
These nine students are graduating seniors of the Carmichaels Area High School Class of 2013. Each student spoke about her future goals and where she plans to further her education.
•Floretta Chambers, September, plans to attend Duquesne University Honors College and major in early childhood education and pre law.
• Alexa Ponick, October, plans to attend West Virginia University and major in dentistry/orthodontics.
• Lindsey Osborne, November, plans to attend Slippery Rock University and major in early childhood development/special education.
• Nicolette Hughes, December, plans to attend California University of Pa. and major in speech pathology/audiology.
• Lakelyn Sheldon, January, plans to attend California University of Pa. and major in early childhood development/special education.
• Hillary Pratt, February, plans to attend Washington & Jefferson College and major in biology/pre medicine.
• Anna Cree, March, plans to attend Duquesne University and major in pre medicine.
• Charlyne Adams, April, plans to attend St. Vincent College and major in English.
• Rachael Hathaway, May, plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in early childhood education/special education.
