Work has started on a $2 million project to improve the Route 22/Route 980/Potato Garden Road interchange in North Fayette Township, Allegheny County.

The eastbound off-ramp from Route 22 to Route 980 is closing July 19. Work to repair concrete shoulder and seal joints will occur. The westbound ramp to Route 980 will not be affected during this time.

A detour will be posted to guide motorists.

The project will include bridge superstructure and interchange rehabilitation, milling and resurfacing, concrete pavement patching, drainage, guard rail, shoulders, signing and pavement marking and other improvements.

The prime contractor is Golden Triangle Construction Co. Inc. of Imperial. The overall project will be completed late in 2013.
