A Washington man was arrested Sunday night by Chartiers Township police after he allegedly was carrying a handgun during a disturbance at a township trailer park.

David J. Durbin, 23, of 2740 Jefferson Ave., is accused of having the gun at 380 Moon Road in Washington Estates Trailer Park.

Police were called about 9:25 p.m. for a report of two people getting ready to fight at 380 Moon. The caller said at least one of them had a handgun.

When police arrived, numerous people were in front of the residence. Sgt. Charles Harton and Officer Edgar Ellis entered the home amidst yelling and screaming as they tried to locate the gun.

Seleena Morris told Harton that Durbin entered the home and tried to give her the gun to hide, but she refused. Durbin then reportedly put the gun in a black garbage bag that was in the kitchen. Harton found a .38-caliber handgun inside the bag.

Charles Morris and Brian Allen told police that when Durbin showed up that night, he pulled up his shirt and pulled the gun out of the waistband of his pants. He then allegedly pointed the gun at the two men before running into the house at 380 Moon. Both men told police they feared for their lives.

Durbin was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of carrying a loaded weapon, recklessly endangering another person and possessing a gun with an altered number. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $50,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for June 6 before District Judge David Mark.
