A document shredding event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Greene County Fairgrounds. The event is sponsored by state Rep. Pam Snyder, state Sen. Tim Solbay and the Greene County commissioners. DocSolutions, a subsidiary of Community Action Southwest, will provide its services for the shredding event, which helps residents dispose of documents that might contain personal information that could lead to trouble if allowed to sit in the regular trash. The shredding service is available free to residents. Businesses should contact DocSolutions for pricing on business documents.

A free community dinner will be held at the United Methodist Church’s social hall in Rogersville from 5 to 6:30 Friday. The dinner will include ham, macaroni and cheese, green beans, applesauce, a roll, desserts and beverages. Donations will be accepted and carryout is available. Anyone is welcome. Central Greene School District will offer fall sports physicals Saturday in the high school gymnasium. They are by appointment only. Call the athletic office at 724-852-1050, extension 226.

An all-church yard sale will be held by members of St. Ann Catholic Church in Waynesburg June 8 in Building No. 8 at Greene County Fairgrounds. The sale will begin at 7:30 a.m. and is being organized by the St. Ann Women’s Guild to raise money for various church functions.

Town & Country Garden Club of Rices Landing will present a standard flower show, “Memories of Grandma,” from 2 to 6 p.m. June 15 at the American Legion in Carmichaels. The show is open to the public and admission is free.

Homebound and disabled residents of Greene County can once again travel to vast new worlds and experience many different kinds of adventures, thanks to the Greene County Library System’s program of making house calls. The system now offers free delivery of library materials to all county residents who are advanced in age, have a long-term illness or are physically unable to go to the library.
