PITTSBURGH (AP) — Allegheny County police are searching a wooded area near the county airport for the body of Alivia Kail, a 19-year-old woman who disappeared in 2011.

Police said Thursday that information from cell phone records and interviews with witnesses led them to areas around the airport in West Mifflin.

Kail disappeared in March 2011. She was last seen after telling friends she was going to Florida with her boyfriend.

Kail’s boyfriend was questioned by police and jailed for several weeks on unrelated drug charges, but he was never charged in connection with her disappearance.

Members of Kail’s family have joined in the search and her mother, Christine DiDiano, appealed again to anyone who had information about her daughter’s disappearance to come forward.
