Charleroi plans park cleanup event

Charleroi Borough will make park improvements and host a park cleanup event and summer activities.
An intern from California University has been retained by the borough to run programming one day per week at each park for eight weeks. Programming will include basketball, four square, crafts, entertainment and more. A “Park after Dark” movie night will be scheduled later this summer.
Improvements are being planned including new mulch, equipment repair, painting, basketball hoop installation, security cameras and fencing.
In advance of those improvements at the Woodland Avenue and Crest Avenue parks, the borough is holding a painting, planting, cleaning and weeding event from 9 a.m. to noon June 8.
