Indecent assault charge: Earnest Samuel Chipps, 47, of Garards Fort, was charged with inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl in October at a residence on Moffitt Road, state police said. Chipps allegedly later told the girl he was going to marry her and the two would have children and build a house. A charge of indecent assault was filed against Chipps with District Judge Lee Watson.

Forgery charges: Dorothy Shubert, 37, of Bobtown, was arrested by state police after she allegedly presented a forged prescription at the CVS Pharmacy in Franklin Township. Shubert was charged with a felony count of acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, forgery or deception, possession of a controlled substance and forgery, both misdemeanors. She was arraigned before District Judge Glenn Bates and placed in the Greene County jail on $30,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is secheduled for 11 a.m. June 6.

Theft reported: Five propane tanks were stolen from the BFS Store in Mt. Morris between May 22 and Wednesday, state police said.
