Lions Club kicks off annual nut drive
The Waynesburg Lions Club has prepared a Koeze nut basket to be raffled Dec. 13.
The Christmas gift basket, valued at $123.50, can be viewed at First Federal Savings and Loan on High Street in Waynesburg.
This is the Lions Club’s 28th annual nut drive, which has proven to be a successful fundraiser for the club each year.
Tickets to take a chance on winning the basket are $2 for one entry and $5 for three entries. The basket contains colossal cashews in a 30-ounce decanter, milk chocolate pecan turtles in a 19.5-ounce decanter, dark chocolate pecan turtles in a five-ounce box, chocolate-dipped dried cherries in a 10-ounce bag, and a Koeze premium Belgian milk chocolate bar.
Proceeds from the raffle tickets and sale of other holiday nuts and candies help the organization support the blind and visually impaired, as well as conduct other programs benefiting the local and international communities.
Koeze nuts and candies and be purchased at several local businesses, including Community Bank branches in Carmichaels and Waynesburg, First National Bank in Dry Tavern, Humble Carpet and Decorating Center, McCracken Pharmacy and Waynesburg Milling Co.
