GREENSBURG (AP) – State police said a man and woman were fatally shot outside a Western Pennsylvania apartment complex, and a suspect was later found dead of a self-inflicted wound.

Trooper Stephen Limani said someone reported hearing gunfire shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Hempfield Heights complex in Westmoreland County. That’s about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Troopers arrived to find two people dead in the parking lot and they immediately blocked off the street, and began searching the large complex.

The whole complex was eventually locked down and an emergency response team brought in. Limani said in the afternoon police found a man who they believe was the shooter dead inside one of the apartments, and the lockdown was lifted.

The names of the victims have not been released.
