Collections for troops begin today

Operation Interdependence will be collection items for members of the U.S. military from 4 to 8 p.m. each Saturday this month, beginning today, at the Greensboro Log Cabin.
The group is seeking volunteers and donations to help package and send C-rations to U.S. troops for Christmas.
Suggested items needed for C-rat packages include:
Zip lock quart bags, band aids, Neosporin, Q tips, candy, though no chocolate; travel size toiletries, eye drops, teas and coffee in sealed packages, over the counter pain medication , sealed tubes of toothpaste, gum, though no twist wrapped candy or gum; sealed snacks and food, though no cans; pantyhose to keeps sand out, ball caps, decks of cards and small games
All items must fit in a quart-size zippered plastic bags. Only sealed items can be accepted, nothing used or opened, and no pork.
