Salary board addresses personnel matters

WAYNESBURG – Greene County Salary Board addressed numerous personnel matters during its meeting Thursday.

Cynthia Policz was promoted to assistant director of the county’s domestic relations office at a salary of $48,737, and Lisa Eddy was promoted to fiscal assistant at $15.35 an hour.

In matters pertaining to the county jail, the salary board approved the promotion of Tina Smith as a full-time corrections officer at $15.02 an hour, and hired nine casual corrections officer, all at a the rate of $12.77 an hour. They are Michael Kiger, David Pritchard, Dennis Thomas, Kiley Cain, Ryan Srnik, Shawn Johnson, Jeffrey Kozbial, Frederick Henigin and Thomas Jordan.

Laurie Thomas was hired as a part-time temporary legal assistant in the public defender’s office, and five people – Tara Lawless, Richard Blaker, Ashley Redman, Leon Price and Cindy Nesto – were hired as casual 911 telecommunicator trainees at $10 an hour for a maximum of 29 hours per week.

In other business, the salary board:

• Accepted the resignations of Nathan Russian as a corrections officer at the county jail, and Dennis Modar, as a casual van driver with the human services transportation program

• Rehired Floretta Chambers as a skate guard at the Mon View Roller Rink at $7.25 an hour

• Hired Jared Zinn as a watershed specialist and Zachary Basinger as an environmental specialist with the county conservation district. Both will be paid $15 an hour

• Hired Asa Winters and Marcus Simms as casual county detectives at a rate of $15 an hour.
