Visiting Washington County Judge Edward Borkowski Friday acquitted Alysia Prosser, 29, of North Charleroi, of a robbery charge, but found her guilty of stealing $200 from Rose Tomovchik of Monessen, who was seated in a van near Prosser’s home while counting cash.

The incident occurred Sept. 30, 2012, in the 500 block of Fifth Street. Tomovchik testified she intended to use the money to purchase cigarettes and a money order when Prosser reached into the vehicle through an open window and stole the bills.

On the theft charge, Borkowski placed Prosser on probation for a year and ordered her to pay restitution to the victim, “maintain a clean and sober lifestyle” and have no contact with Tomovchik.

Also in the van was Marlita Addis, 50, of Charleroi, who was brought from Washington County jail to testify that she was meeting Prosser that day to drop off cigarettes.
