Shotgun found: A shotgun was found along the south branch of Muddy Creek Road in Cumberland Township at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12. The owner of the firearm is asked to contact the state police at 724-627-6151.
Harassment: Amanda Loar, 40, of Waynesburg, was charged with harassment after allegedly striking James Parrish in the head with a plastic bottle of orange juice Nov. 16 in Waynesburg.
Theft: Timothy Hilverding, 24, of 240 S. Cumberland St., Waynesburg, and Billy Miller, 27, of 27 Chartiers Hill Road, Clarksville, are accused of stealing batteries from vehicles owned by Force Inc., of Stewart Hill Road, Waynesburg, and Anthony Stockdale of Braden St., Waynesburg, while the vehicles were parked in the Classy Cuts Plaza. The thefts occurred Oct. 29.
Simple assault: Larry Lee Black, 50, of 379 Woodies Road, Waynesburg, was charged with simple assault, defiant trespass and harassment following an incident involving Terri Lynn Black, 48, of 313 Third St., Mather. State police said Larry Black allegedly grabbed the arms and neck of Terri Lynn Black while he was a passenger in a truck Terri Black was operating Nov. 16. Police said they observed bruising on her arms and the left side of her neck. Black is also accused of being at her residence when he was told by the property owner, James D. Roberts, that he is not allowed to be there.
Trespassing: Damon Joshua Reese, 21, of Rices Landing, was charged with trespassing for being at the Jefferson BFS gas station Nov. 14 after receiving notice he was not permitted to be there, state police said.
Burglary: State police are investigating a burglary at the home of Wendi Riggs, Browns Run Road, New Freeport, that occurred sometime between 8:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 8:50 a.m. Nov. 10. Riggs told police four red five-gallon gas cans, a blue kerosene can and a case of Agco motor oil were stolen after the door of Riggs’ garage was kicked in.
Theft: State police are investigating the theft of a blue 5070 Ford Tractor and a yellow Sidewinder Brush Hog from White’s Tree Service in the area of Kirby Mine sometime between Oct. 11 and Nov. 11.
