HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) – A Pennsylvania man has been convicted of robbing a Hagerstown bank.

Twenty-eight-year-old Charles Benjamin McNeal of Waynesboro was convicted Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court. He was found guilty of robbery, assault and theft.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reported McNeal represented himself in the three-day trial. It took the jury less than 30 minutes to return the guilty verdict.

A sentencing date has not been set.

Prosecutors say McNeal went into M&T Bank on Pennsylvania Avenue in September 2012 and gave a teller a note demanding cash. Authorities said he fled with more than $1,800, and was arrested about an hour later.
