Central Greene Education Association and the Central Greene Raiders Scholarship Trust are hosting their first annual trivia contest at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Waynesburg Central High School cafeteria.
All proceeds will benefit local charities and student scholarships. Teams must consist of 4 to 8 members. Cost is $30 per player for four members of the team and $25 per player for each additional member.
Spectators are $10. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
The Hidden Treasure Store in Waynesburg is having a customer appreciation day Oct. 12. Included will be music, all kinds of refreshments, door prizes and coupons will be given out. A fall wreath that will go to the grand-prize winner. There also will be special salest.
The seventh annual Greene County Business Expo will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 17 at the PA National Guard Readiness Center, 500 EverGreene Drive, Waynesburg.
Greene County Salvation Army Produce to People is being held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Greene County Fairgrounds Oct. 24, Nov. 21 and Dec.19. All income-eligible households will be qualified to receive free food. The food comes to Waynesburg from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Flashlight Fright Night will be held at the Greene County Historical SocietyMuseum from 7 to 11 p.m. Oct. 26. Admission is $5. Ghosts, ghouls, hosts and haunts. Please join us at the Greene County Museum for a night of Terror-rific fun! Activities will include lantren-lit hunted museum tours, haunted hayride, Halloween costume contest, DJ Dave Plavi, refreshments, horror films shown all night in the museum barn “theater.”
If you are scared of the dark, bring a flashlight because it’s lights out on this night out.
The arts department at Waynesburg University will host E-3 Day: Explore, Enrich, Excel, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m . Nov. 9 in the university’s Goodwin Performing Arts Center.
The event, described as “a fine arts immersion day,” is geared toward all fine arts students, grades 9 through 12. It will feature a series of workshops, master classes and competitions in all areas of the fine arts: art, music (vocal and instrumental) and theater.
University faculty members and guest artists will present a variety of topics advantageous to high school students preparing for collegiate auditions
This collaborative event is intended to promote participation, education and skills in all the fine arts. Deadline is 4 p.m. Nov. 1.
