Washington County has entered into an agreement to purchase 3.1 acres between Airport Road and Goodridge Drive, South Franklin Township, from Phillip and David Sollon for $700,000.

“The use is to be determined,” said William McGowen, executive director of the Washington County Redevelopment Authority, which manages the airport for the county. “There has been no aviation activity whatsoever” recently at the tract, which includes three hangars.

“We foresee that we will probably keep two hangars and demolish one,” he said.

Tom Pizzuti purchased Aeronational, a company that had been owned by two other Sollon brothers until their deaths, but that transaction did not include the two off-airport parcels the county is purchasing.

The county expects to close on the property within 45 days.
